Black Friday — the day after Thanksgiving that typically marks the beginning of the holiday shopping season — has deals to offer Americans of all ages. Black Friday falls on Nov. 25 this year, in stores and online.

Amazon offers new deals every hour throughout the whole week leading up to Black Friday. Other retailers also offer pre-Black Friday events:
Monday, Nov. 28, is Cyber Monday! You can find online bargains from many e-retailers. Amazon offer Cyber Monday savings and continues the deals over Cyber Week.
On Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, most stores will be closed. However, a few places will be open, including pharmacies (CVS, Walgreens, RiteAid), Dollar General and Family Dollar.

Whenever you make a purchase, be sure to check the store’s return policy. Many retailers have shortened their return periods. The following stores have a 30-day return policy:
Verizon, on wireless devices ($50 restocking fee applies)
Some retailers offer extended holiday returns:
J.Crew – Orders from Oct. 12, 2022, through Dec. 9, 2022, can be returned or exchanged until Jan. 9, 2023.
Apple – Items purchased between Nov. 4, 2022, and Dec. 25, 2022, may be returned through Jan. 8, 2023.
Best Buy – Purchases made Oct. 24, 2022, through Dec. 31, 2022, have an extended return period through Jan. 14, 2023. (Exclusions apply)
Amazon – Most items purchased between Oct. 7, 2022, and Dec. 31, 2022, are returnable through Jan. 31, 2023.
To make a return or exchange, you may be required to return the merchandise in its original packaging with the receipt (Verizon). Items that may have restocking fees include:
Activatable devices (smartphones, tablets, watches)
Drones, DSLR cameras and lenses, mirrorless cameras and lenses (BestBuy)
Merchandise that is marked “final sale” is not returnable. Other non-returnable items may include:
Custom and personalized orders
Opened software (broken seal or sticker on the packaging). You can return software that has not been installed on any computer. (Apple)
Prepaid cards (gift cards and prepaid phone cards)
